As I’ve continued to invest my time and energy into Medium I’ve continued to see lots of problems and challenges that Medium writers are facing. While I have no illusions that I’m somehow going to solve all the problems I can see places where as a community we can support one another.

I’ve started this process on Medium by sharing some of the things I’ve done to improve my personal experience in hopes that it will help others.

Outside of Medium, I see constant conversation about the challenge of distribution. I see Medium’s own feeds filled with Self-Help, and Finance topics, and that’s fine those things get reads from readership at large. I myself am not interested in those articles at all.

So I’ve created a fan account where I’m going to share some of my favorite writerly and bookish articles.

If you’re on twitter I hope you’ll join me, tag me in articles here from other writers you love.

I see a writing community here that is so supportive and talented — I know if we come together we can create the success for ourselves that we see should be possible.

If you ask me, it’s time to take matters into our own hands and show rather than tell Medium what’s going to make the difference with this platform.

I hope to see you there, along with all your writerly friends: @author_medium
