This is because can get you into Featured Snippets at the top of Google pages, even with little traffic. Landing SERP is basically a Google judgement call. You could say it’s Google’s form of “curation".
Then even beyond that there is Structured Data which lays out details for things such as a book, in a form that’s easily consumable by search engines and so can get you on displays that you wouldn’t otherwise. Such as the horizontal top page lists we see on some searches.
